THE RECEPTION OF SON OF SAUL IN THE FRENCH PRESS / In “Claude Lanzmann’s Shoah country,” the press reception concerning the films, which deal with the Holocaust, usually awakens debates and polemics about cinema, as well as memory. This article endeavours to synthesize the reception of Son of Saul in France, where it was largely wellreceived, save for two significant news outlets. It focuses not on the purpose of the film, but on the arguments that the press develops.
