This interview examines the epistemological and ethical issues of various landscape approaches. Indeed, this matter goes beyond the question of aesthetical categories and even beyond the environmental problem. It addresses our relationship to the Earth as a habitable and inhabited planet. To be interested in landscape is thus to enter a field crisscrossed by different theoretical and methodological perspectives, including memory studies. Landscape and social or personal memory are fundamentally interrelated.
